Dining near Millers64

As lockdown starts to ease across the UK, we can’t wait to get out and about and support our local cafes and restaurants. At Millers64 we are super lucky to have an abundance of options on our doorstep; from street food style diners to Michelin starred fine dining – here’s a selection of what you can expect when you book a visit to stay with us:

The Little Chartroom
Recently appearing on The Great British Menu; Roberta and the team are one of the most recent additions to Edinburgh’s Leith Walk with The Little Chartroom.  Focusing on local, seasonal produce; this small (18 covers) French-British inspired restaurant is one not to be missed.  Each day there are three starters and three mains on offer; delicacies can include cured monkfish, cod with miso and quail with mushroom broth.  We suggest booking early to ensure  a table as Roberta made it to the final of The Great British Menu!

Le Roi Fou
With a name which translates as ‘The Crazy King’, Le Roi Fou is a cosy and vibrant restaurant which seats 30 covers.  Chef uses vibrant flavours and colours to tempt your tastebuds, with previous dishes including cured Iberico pork loin with white asparagus and valhrona chocolate marquise – yum!  Find this classic, yet contemporary gem just off Broughton Street, a short walk from Millers64.

Origano Pizzeria
A cafe and pizzeria, Origano is located within the only surviving part of Leith’s former Victoria India Rubber Mill. Offering relaxed dining, this spot is popular for groups of friends to get together for celebrations, with their pizzas large enough to order a few to share over a bottle of good red wine. Fire-cooked pizza their speciality, we recommend the Estiva or the Milamo.

The Walnut
Open for lunch and dinner Wed-Sun, The Walnut is a great neighbourhood bistro with a focus on local produce.  The menu changes regularly and has featured dishes such as Orzo with wild garlic, Scottish oak smoked salmon dressed crab and their classic dessert ‘The Walnut Whip’.

Bodega
If you like tacos and margarita’s then this is the place for you! From baja cod to avocado tempura; this is Bodega’s second site in Edinburgh.  The team are on hand to recommend their favourite dishes and we insist you order the guacamole as you decide what else to order.  An iced margarita will bring those sunny vibes, whatever the weather is doing in the city!

The Kitchin
If fine dining is what you’re looking for, then look no further than The Kitchin; Tom Kitchin’s original restaurant, located in the popular Shore area of the city.  Starters include seafood favourites such as scallop and langoustine; but with Tom’s unique twist.  Mains include treats such as Roe Deer from the Scottish Borders and pork from nearby East Fortune Farm.  A Michelin quality experience is guaranteed – make sure you book early to avoid disappointment!

We hope to see you at Millers64, and enjoying one of our nearby foodie favourites, very soon!
